Movement/Performance

Kamila CK is an interdisciplinary artist creating performances using aerial movement (on trapeze, silks or a hoop), physical theatre, contemporary dance and live painting in a contemporary art context.

The characters and narrative are created based on a universal subject of the human journey, showing recognisable experiences, emotions and duality within our own lives.

“The Circle of Everything”

Interdisciplinary Performance, London, 2023- 2024
Premier: Camden Fringe, 18.08.2024 Cockpit Theatre.

Movement based performance drawing on artist’s practice of Enso circle painting and aerial movement juxtaposed with moving images.
All mediums are connected and complementing each other.

Using the shape of the circle, the performance explores our place in the universe. It also touches on themes of duality; our sense of connection to oneself, others and the world and the opposite therefore our sense of separation.

“Odyssey of the Circle”

Collaborative Performance, France, 2022.
Location:
Lola and Yukao Meet Residency, Clamecy, France.

Combining movement on Aerial Hoop with Enso Circle Painting and Digital Art Projections.

An imaginative and immersive Zen experience, taking a viewer on a journey through circular forms (including aerial hoop and the moon) culminating with a live painting of Enso circle (known as Zen Circle in the art of Japanese caligraphy).

The work explores the states of altered consciousness awakened by the connection to something bigger than ourselves.

The piece draws inspiration from Enso, the iconic circular symbol, considered to be the pinnacle of Zen Buddhism. Spiritually, Enso circle is considered a mirror of the moon.
